Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Spring has sprung, it’s somehow already March and if you’re reading this, you’re looking for a little help with a present for someone you care about who may not necessarily be your ‘mother’ by blood but someone who you believe you’d like to treat on this day – or any other day really just to say thanks!

In case you were wondering, this blog is not sponsored by any of these brands I’ve mentioned. I decided that for this gift guide, I would do some research into new brands and show you some affordable places that I genuinely like.

It’d be easy for me to select pieces from my favourite shops (the next brand is a well known favourite I couldn’t help but include) but I always believe that with Personal Styling it’s good to introduce the client (you wonderful people) to a couple of brands you may not have heard of before.

Now I don’t know about you but my mother prefers a present that is friendly to our planet so my I’ve chosen some items that would make my mother and mother Earth a little happier.

Recently, I bought my mum a pair of fluffy lined boots from Next. She wanted a comfy and warm pair of boots to throw on after her dance class that would still look nice. Next’s pair are fake suede which she appreciated. They didn’t break the bank and she loves them!

Don’t feel pressured to get that person you care about a ‘big brand’ if you can’t afford it. That person could feel more at ease knowing you haven’t broken the bank for them and the high street version might even be more to their liking.

If you’re looking to gift something that they can keep using and think of you, how about a vegan leather bag, card-holder or purse. Johnny loves Rosie is a lovely sustainable yet affordable brand with a wide range of accessories in many colours that you can customise with their initials on if you’d like to get personal.

Sometimes something personal that is functional and long lasting is a good call. I like to use Mother’s Day as an opportunity to get my mum something she needs, not just something for the sake of it that she might not use again because it’s a public holiday and I felt I ought to. Why not ask her if there’s something she could do with or take notice of her belongings. I recently noticed that my mum likes to use an old canvas bag when she has to carry a lot of things and have decided to find her a new better one she can use all the time.

A really nice hand-made jewellery brand that’s doing lots of good in the world in Wolf & Moon. They have a range of accessories crafted with fun designs such as fruit, flowers, stars and even the human form. They’ve collaborated with charities such as CoppaFeel and will donate £5 to them for every item sold. The brand also plant 1 tree with Ecologi for every order they get!

I don’t know about you but jewellery is always a safe option, they alway love it and it’s pretty sure to put a smile on their face. That person might have quite a lot of jewellery already (though more never hurts) so it’s a nice icing on the cake that this brand does a little good too.

One of the best gifts you can give someone is a personal experience that they’ll always remember. I offer gift vouchers ranging from £50 – £300 that you can send to that special care giver to help them learn about their personal style, what colours and shapes look the best on them and how to express their taste in a way that matches their lifestyle and meets their budget.

If this sounds like the perfect gift you’d like to give, get in touch and let’s make that special person feel great inside and out!
