My 2025 Wardrobe Wrapped

Inspired by the Spotify wrapped that we all love to analyse,  I’ll talking about my year in fashion for 2025. You can watch the video version here.

Like with music, fashion can tell you a lot about who you are and what you’ve been up to so I hope this is interesting and maybe inspires you to review your wardrobe too.

When we know what it is we like and keep coming back to, it can help us buying new clothes going forward. You can get items similar to that fav so that item doesn’t get worn out beyond repair.

Japanese fashion

The biggest change this year in my wardrobe is when I went to Japan. You can watch my full haul video here but I’ll be mentioning my top wears in this blog.

I went in June, which is half way through the year, but what I bought has made a big impact and since then I’ve been wearing everything loads.

Most outfits include a Japanese something, it just makes me happy. Hair accessories, earrings, bag charms – usually one of those for sure.

But the dresses I bought are worn on repeat. The 2 checked pleated shirt dresses I love the fit of and I wear them when Personal Shopping and Wardrobe Edits a lot. Feeling smart and confident in them is a key factor.

Now it’s colder I’m looking for winter layering ways of wearing them. Like having under-tops and knits over them. Annoyingly, I can see online they made long sleeved versions!

Also the 2 slip dresses from Uniqlo are big hitters. They make me feel dressed up every time I put them on and both colours are extremely versatile. Even the black one which isn’t my go-to tone but I’ve been paring it with all my bold colours a frequently.

Both bags I bought in Japan are also super useful and I know I’ll keep grabbing them as I have been so far. Good sizes for shopping and simple colours that work well against my jackets and with footwear.

Leopard print

Leopard print has always been my first foray into beige with it’s warm neutral background and I changed my Colour Analysis bag to one from Next this year.

Needing a backpack was the main reason for this change. My colour gear is heavy and as much as I loved my trademark red gingham side bag, it was digging in to my shoulder.

This new one has soft straps, lots of side pockets and is good in the rain. I also think for a backpack, as someone who’s not aesthetically a big fan and looks like a school child wearing them, it’s pretty decent.

So with a year that has been pretty full of Colour Analysis, I’m wearing my backpack all the time!

Also on animal print, this year I bought a maxi dress which is already a no-brainer dress, racking up outfit hits. I customed this one a lot which is why it’s so comfortable. Un-crossed the straps and made a hole in the back so it’s like wearing nothing.

Under dresses

Last year, I mentioned a certain purple pinafore which I was wearing to death which I had to retire and replace. One theme in 2025 may be shrinking dresses…

So my Colour Analysis uniform changed to white-crop top over a coloured dress. Wearing white is so that you aren’t influenced by seeing a bright colour behind you in the mirror.

I’m enjoying this chocolate brown dress from ASOS (not petite) both casually and for work. It’s got a swingy comfy shape and I actually wear this one backwards!

It’s comfier with the hole at the back and I prefer a high front, it actually made the hem higher so it’s got a kind of dip back. Defo recommend turning clothing and trying new ways of wearing things that aren’t in the product shots.

My other frequent flyer is a navy blue tiered dress from Forever 21 on Vinted. Years ago, back in university when we had a store here in the uk, I bought a cream floral version. Loving that the length was short enough for me and had adjustable straps. It’s honestly my perfect dress shape, so so comfy!

One day I wondered if they ever made another colour-way and I found this blue one on Vinted. Navy is better for my skin and smarter for work, such a good find! Totally recommend hunting down other colours of your faves.

Cardigan overhaul

My biggest change this year was bringing in more neutral pieces. Beige and brown are shades I stayed away from for years. Feeling underwhelming and ‘boring’ but the more I see them against contrasting louder shades, the more I love it.

Getting big into this in 2025, I introduced neutral knits, dresses, jackets and other versatile pieces. Still fun, in my style and seasonal palette’s tones (Spring/Winter).

My top 3 new knits are a warm oatmeal beige cardigan from Uniqlo, chunky chocolate brown and soft cow-print cardis from Next kids.

Becoming such useful pieces and because they are new, giving a fresh and smarter look. My other cardigans are starting to become more worn so I am reaching for the newer ones more often. And I’m still enjoying the novelty of these warm neutrals in my outfits.

Training seasons

I’m definitely still wearing those black platform converses over and over which I mentioned last year – some things don’t change!

Zara kids red trainers with gum sole are also definitely up there with most worn shoes of the year, I really do love adding a pop of red to outfits.

The fit of them is so good, I’ve added a leopard print pair which I predict will be up there in my list in 2026. I would buy this shoe style in all the colours if they make them, they are just so comfortable.

I do find with my tiny feet, nice comfortable shoes are hard to find. It’d be easy to wear those pairs into the ground, so aim trying to add in new additions and spread out my wear amongst them.

Jacket updates

This has been a year of revamping and updating fits, quality and colours. Coat and jacket-wise, I’ve added a few more into the mix as they felt a little lacking.

Loving the bubble-hem trend, my 2 new rounded friends are a bright pink coat from H&M and a beige suede jacket from Zara kids.

The bright pink colour has been super joyful, hopefully creating fun first impression and the subtle suede is a bit sleeker.

I have been wearing my Vinted Zara leathery one a lot, especially in the rain. And of course this is about most wear…it rains a lot in the UK! I am looking for some more weather friendly friends but in the meantime, these 2 fit really well. The H&M a surprising XXS adult size (I’m tiny).

Neutral beiges and brown clothes

Personal Stylist’s colour of the year

You’ve guessed it, beige! I can’t believe it either. A few years ago I would have argued that as a stylist I need to be more dopamine, wear all the colours at once but I’ve learned that it’s fun to play with neutrals and let them support your bolds.

My tone is a warm tan as Spring is my primary palette. If you’d like to learn your best shades on a Colour & Body Analysis session with me, get in touch and let me help you find your best neutrals!

Key takeaways

This year I was analytical of my wardrobe, giving away and selling pieces that I no longer wear. Looking over if things still fit me, checking quality and assessing what I needed to update.

I invite you to do the same. Perfect way to start the year! If this sounds a little overwhelming and you’d like a professional’s help, get in touch and we can sort you out for 2026 on a Wardrobe Edit

In 2025, I bought more adult clothing – big surprise as a 4ft9 serial kidswear shopper. Being open minded and trying new things can lead to some happy surprises. And getting creative with where you find things and how you wear them. Like my backwards dress!
