It’s December, cold and grey outside and the one word on everyone’s lips is Christmas. Even if you’re not Christian (me) it’s something to look forward to on this gloomy month.

For some people Christmas can be stressful. Perhaps you have to cook for a bunch of people or give presents to someone you don’t know very well. Hopefully some of my affordable gift suggestions can help lighten the load a little and give you some inspiration so you can relax and enjoy the days ahead.

Cute quirky characters for babies and grown-ups!

Firstly I’m going to mention a brand that I stumbled across years ago at a Comic-Con called Noodoll. They are a small brand that make very cute characters based on the rice of Taiwan where the London-based designer is from. I fell in love with the quirky characters and have been buying my mum presents for years from them. They have many great toys, gifts and accessories for everyone from babies to adults, certain to put a smile on someone’s face.

Cheeky fun put’s you on top of the teen’s cool list

Know a tricky teen or need to buy a gift for the child of a friend you don’t know that well? You’ll find something sure to put a smirk on their face at Skinnydip. This London-based brand launched right after the iPhone, making cases that I used to buy every year for their unique designs (which always got compliments). Since then they’ve been collaborating with celebrities, Disney and an array of brands, branching out to clothes, accessories and lifestyle products. The perfect brand for someone with a lot of character.

Give loved ones a a bit of love to carry with them

Sometimes its the hardest person to buy a gift for is someone you see every day, especially when you can already see their asos packages arriving. What can you add that’s sentimental that they don’t have? Making gifts is always lovely (personally I like to knit scarves) but it can also be nice to find something memorable.

Liars & Lovers is lovely brand with some meaningful pieces that make really great gifts. A necklace to give strength to someone could be appreciated in these times or even one that promotes creativity. I personally used to buy bracelets from Accessorize with chakra pendants when I needed a boost. Accessorize currently have a great chakra range that both look great and make the wearer feel like they have a encouragement from you and the universe even when you’re not around.

Socks are the greatest and safest present!

Back to those you might not know well or are so picky you have no idea how to please. People always act like it’s a ‘bad present’ but socks are the safest thing you can buy a person. Everyone needs and wears socks and might be better than gifting your partner’s dad a weird present that doesn’t get the laughs you imagined.

Tabio is a good Japanese brand, the most popular sock brand in Japan and his been past down from father to son and now their socks can be passed from you to your son or tricky colleague. With great quality and designs for everyone, you’re sure to make someone happy with one of their designs.
