My 2024 Wardrobe Wrapped

Inspired by the Spotify wrapped that we all love to see,  I’ll talking about what I wore the most this year in 2024.

Like with music, fashion can tell you a lot about who you are and what you’ve been up to so I hope this is interesting and maybe inspires you to review your wardrobe too.

When we know what it is we like and keep coming back to, it can help us buying new clothes going forward. You can get items similar to that fav so that item doesn’t get worn out beyond repair.

The dress that impressed

This year, I did a lot of Colour Analysis which means the dress I usually wear for that session is probably my most worn piece.

It’s a Zara tweed pinafore with a V neck. I wear white top under it as it’s best to see me behind you wearing a blank non-colour. With the low neckline I can put my cardigan over it and have a white top half.

I wear this dress all year long with different under tops so it’s very versatile. However, I have been trying to wear it less as it’s already becoming a bit loved.

My other Colour Analysis outfit is a white crop top/jumper with a colourful dress. So I’m trying to stock up on white top half pieces and dresses to slip under them.

Knitwear hero

This cardigan is from Stradivarius on Vinted as this year I’ve been feeling for my Spring Barbie pink. In particular, I’m enjoying it against a red. Similar colours like these together can be a fun clash.

In the in-between seasons, this works well as it isn’t too chunky and fits under light jackets well. Not only is it nice to have different colours of cardis, a range of thicknesses are useful too.

Top coat

Another Vinted buy I just can’t get enough of. Tried on last year in a Zara and found again at a great discounted price in excellent condition.

Perfect for me as it’s lined so nice and warm without looking too big and puffy. Being petite, I tend to look smaller in big coats. This one is pretty sleek and the contrasting fluff brightens it up.

It’s been bird-pooed on and had coffee split on it but that still washed out perfectly. My tip if you ruin a piece like this is to try and lift the muck off then rub some dish soap in it. Leave that in for a bit and then scrub off with water.

Most walked in

Black platform converse. These shoes are so comfy, making them perfect for shopping days where I’m doing a lot of running back and forth to the fitting rooms!

The platform helps when I want to look taller and more adult without wearing a pair of heels. So I wear these when I go networking and when I talk at schools which has been more and more this year.

Looking back, I was really not wearing heels this year. I do so much walking even if it’s just travel so it’s not worth it to me. Shoes like this with a chunky lift are enough I find. I’ll keep the actual heels for weddings.

The bag I kept grabbing

This handbag from Pull & Bear has become the perfect bag to me. Firstly in my favourite colour but the main thing is the size is perfect.

It’s got many small sub pockets for me to put my tablets, business cards, tissues and small things like that. The main bag fits a water bottle which is a big deal for a little handbag.

Style and function are important to me and I believe you can have nice bags like this that don’t have to just fit a lipgloss. Great alternative to lugging a heavy tote!

A+ Accessory

Like many people this past year, I got into hair clips. I do a half pony a lot and I can’t believe I was just using a plain band before – not very stylist of me.

So I bought a few clips and scrunchies and I really have been wearing them a lot. Even just on my bag strap to personalise it more.

Every detail counts when putting a look together and these little pieces can be what ties it all together and makes you look like someone who cares. And usually these accessories are what get you the compliments.

Personal Stylist’s print of the year

2024 saw leopard print come in in a big way. Great for me because I love it! Like a lot of stylists say, it’s a neutral. Tan coloured back drop and still that touch of black, perfect against a block colour.

I’ve been stocking up and I can say that a lot of my buys this year have been different pieces in the print. I probably have at least one leopard item per look.

I finally found a leopard print cardigan which I’ve had on my shopping list for years on Black Friday Sale. Next year I predict it’ll be top of my wears of the year list!

Personal Stylist’s colour of the year

Bright tomato red was trending a lot in 2024 before the Burgundy shade came in and I stocked up! Like the leopard print, most of my outfits will feature some red in it.

As well as my red handbag, red socks, red jumper whenever it was cold, red under top and a new red dress I bought last year. I’m sure these will also get plenty of wear next year too.

I love embracing my favourite colour and always feel happier and more confident if it’s in my outfit. I’m always surprised when a client doesn’t own their fav shade – life is too short not to! It may be scary but be brave and wear your faves.

So that’s my summary of my personal style in 2024. It’ll probably be different from your wrapped list but I hope it inspires you in some way. We can all learn from each other’s wardrobes.

Get in touch if you’d like me to cast my personal stylist eye over your wardrobe and identify what it is in your wardrobe you haven’t been wearing and what to replace it with. I can do this for you on a Wardrobe Edit. The perfect way to start the new year with a purpose!
